I thought this book is more like Bella Andre/ Layla Hagens book. But this book is even worst than their books.

There is no character development, no character chemistry and no story. No plot, no drama. Nothing. Except a lot of baking, dog, motorcycle painting and water. I dont know what is it about drinking water that the author always insert it into the sentences.

Good story overall however, I feel like the ending was rushed.
SpoilerThere was a little build up to the breakup that we knew had to happen at some point but that felt rush and the time after to resolve and move to the HEA... way to short in my opinion.

It's funny because I'm not a huge straight up romance fan but I find that I do enjoy Jaci Burton's work. In Don't Let Go, a baker who just wants to set down more permanent roots in her hometown falls for reclusive, broody mechanic who is just looking to save enough money to leave town and start his own business elsewhere. But a few baked goods and one lost puppy later has Brady rethinking his decision to leave.

I really liked both Meghan and Brady. Even though Meghan was a tad bit aggressive in the beginning, I had to admire her tenacity for going after what she wanted - and using baked goods to help her cause. When she finds out that Brady wants the exact opposite of what she wants, she doesn't try to change him. Instead, she tries to change herself to maybe be this kid of person that can just have a no-strings relationship. Brady is a very smart man and obviously knows that Meghan isn't the nonrelationship type but he's a little selfish and doesn't want to give her up, so he goes along with it.

We all know where this is going- Brady gets scared because he starts to realize maybe he doesn't want to leave and Meghan starts to realize that the nonrelationship game just isn't for her. Conflict abounds, drama ensues. And I just ate it up. Also, guys, the puppy - just swoon now.

A cute contemporary that doesn't need to be read in a series even though it's part of one.

Brady Connors recently returned to Hope after a self-imposed hiatus following his brother's tragic death. He and bakery owner Megan Lee were sort of thrown together by well-meaning friends at a couple of events but nothing developed. Brady's not interested in any kind of meaningful relationship, including close friendships, but Megan's sunny disposition and easy personality makes it tough to keep his distance. It also helps that she serves up the best morning coffee and sweets at her bakery.

This is one of those stories where you just sit back and enjoy listening to a fairly uncomplicated relationship develop slowly and naturally. You know there will come a point when Brady's wall around his emotional compartments will reach a meltdown climax but in the meantime, you'll just appreciate two really good people finding their way. The first step to that takedown happens when Brady rescues a stray dog who he eventually names Roxie and decides to keep. Yeah, she often steals the show and that worked for me (and them!).

What also worked for me was the inclusion of the characters from past stories. Their updates were meaty and helped instill the strong theme of friendship and community in a meaningful way. I loved the narrator as she seemed to adeptly capture both Megan and Brady's personalities, as well as those continuing characters. I love this town, the series and my decision to switch to the audio version. It was just a very nice listening experience. Oh, and including dogs in each story was an unexpected bonus. 3.5 stars

I really enjoy this Hope series. This story centres around Brady the brooding mechanic and Pastry chef Megan. Brady is grieving the loss of his brother and it's time to start living again. He has a connection with Megan, probably through his stomach. He's in denial though and it's not all easy sailing.
A sweet romance for these two and revisiting other town folk that we've read about in previous stories. I really loved it and I hope you do too.
