OH man this book was an improvement over the first two but not by much. I liked this series, but I just didn't love it. I think it's because I read them after I started Trinity's story and while I enjoyed it, I was more reserved because well I identify more with Trinity then I do with Layla. I did love Roth, Cayman, and Bambi. So I guess just all the "evil" people" HAHA

Argh. Well, this book was kind of a disappointment tbh.
I guess a big part of that is that my Zayla ship got broken in half and sunk pretty much in the first few pages of the book. That was a big blow for me. Zayne's heart just got destroyed into a million tiny pieces and that didn't sit very well with me. On the other hand, and as I've already said in my previous reviews, it was painfully obvious since the second Roth was introduced, that he was gonna end up being the real romantic interest. So I totally saw the heartbreak from hundreds ofmiles pages away. Still, it totally upset me, and I needed some time to mourn the loss of my ship. That's one big reason why it took me so long to finish this book.
Another big reason, and probably the main one, is that in this book the story totally took a back seat. At one point. So yeah, this book didn't have any real meat to it; just infinite, cuddly, sickeningly sweet, over the top, new shiny relationship moments. It got very old, very fast. The whole book practically consisted of Layla and Roth making out.
To be fair, though, there were moments I actually enjoyed. For example.
But, in the end I can't actually say I enjoyed this book, seeing as the actual story got ignored in favor of Layla and Roth's relationship. The Lilin situation got hastily resolved in the last few pages in a rather simple manner.
So, yeah, if I had to describe this book in a few words, I would use: repetitive, underwhelming and uninspired. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Layla went to Hell to get Sam's soul back and met the Grim Reaper. And what did he tell her? He said straight to her face that she hadn't really done anything to stop the Lilin or save her friend's soul 'cause she had been too busy making googly eyes at her boyfriend and having sex with him. the whole bit about the familiars actually having human forms! I had such a big laugh with Bambi. She's awesome. Aaaand she's got the hots for Zayne? OMG mayor spin-off potential there (or at least fanfiction potential). Also the whole implied Danika-Nicolai relationship. I inadvertently skipped book 2 but it was easy enough to catch up. I like tidy endings but meh. Here's how this book went for me: She chooses Roth and Zayne says she used him. She has a bunch of "aha, I really am not a POS" moments followed by sex with Roth, a trip to Hell that was very underwhelming, loses Bambi to a group of witches, and then kills herself to end the other bad guys but comes back because The Boss was feeling compassionate.. Then more sex with Roth and fast forward to a few months in and they're taking a world tour since they're both immortal, and that's that. Ehhhh.

Jen starts out with so much sadness right off the bat.
I loved we got to see some more of Roth's tattoos. Thumper is one of my favorites. I also love who Thumper eats

Yet another series finale that I really enjoyed, and again, I do think this author's earlier work is really my cup of tea in general. The additional lore we're introduced to was also very interesting. This finale also definitely built on everything readers knew in the first and second books to give us a solid conclusion that was satisfying and personally made me very happy. (Also, if you're wondering, I'm pleased at the direction the romance took!)

This third book fell flat to me. About halfway through I started to lose interest. The book felt... repetitive of so many others I've read before
