Nice, suspenseful sci-fi from Haddix. Made me definitely want to follow the series, and I think kids who liked The Shadow Children series will want to pick this one up. Story about time travel gone wrong, and the problems with trying to correct the errors. It appears tha Haddix will inject some history into subsequent books, which could prove interesting.

a nostalgic read as i remember reading this when i was younger from the og aintree library... however it seems i remember the second book moreso than the first.

its definitley a childrens book rather than YA but the mystery is so intriguing

I am of very mixed feelings about this one. This felt more like a Juvenile chapter book than YA (which is where my library shelves it) - and that's fine, just not what I was expecting. Because I've read a lot of science fiction along similar lines, a lot of this seemed old hat, but to some readers, it would feel new and exciting. (On one page, near the end, I just thought, "Hellllllooooo, Kage Baker and the Company!" *grin*) I skimmed pretty quickly, I admit - and it was eminently skimmable too - but the final page threw out a twist that plays right into some recent interests and readings I've done (I won't say, because it would be a spoiler), so I think I'll pick up Book 2 just to see that. Otherwise, eh.

Suprise! I picked up this book, because it sounded interesting, and I needed something to do. Little did I know it would be soooooooooooooo awesome! Time-travel and a page-turning mystery that had me on the edge of my seat. WOW! Great book for geeks!
