The only positive thing about this book for me was the fact that it was a quick and easy read - 

If you ignore the witch trail setting (which is only marginally related to anything within this book) the story would make much more sense if it was set up in 1816. The historical research did not extend into actual life in the early modern period given the constant historical discrepancies in world building. 

Moreover: This is not a story about witch hunts but a family drama with minimal character development 

Read Manningtree Witches instead for the witch hunt content. OR Regrettably, I am about to cause trouble for a fun time and a better message
