Basically everything about this works. The art is good. Kate is a protagonist who is a lot of fun to follow around. Her voice, her attitude, and her approach keep the story engaging and entertaining.
Additionally, the story stands effectively on its own, which is something that I appreciate (though it does reference the previous run of Hawkeye for some backstory). The other established characters that make appearances here fit in perfectly and have some great dynamics with Kate - as do the new characters introduced in this volume.
Overall, it was just an excellent blend of humor, action, and adventure in which the writing and art come together to make an enjoyable whole.

Light. Amusing. Sometimes forced. Decent start to a new Hawkeye.

Kate is such a dweeb and I love her so much. I loved Jessica Jones being in this and the lil Wolverine bits and Kate wearing a Spider-Man I heart New York sweat shirt. I just love her.

Not as good as the Hawkeye run prior to it imo, or at least not in this volume. I really like Kate and I liked the art style in this (though Jessica Jones seemed oddly squashed in some frames). The issue where she partnered up with Jessica Jones was definitely the highlight of the volume, I didn't really care for the rest of it to be honest. Idk sometimes comics feel like they are going through the motions of being a comic and that's how most of this felt.

Not bad though I was hoping for better. But it was nice to see some version of Jessica Jones in the book. And I liked the trajectory of the book, it improved as it went. There's bits of it that were a little two cutesy. And I'm not a huge fan of the art. But I liked the scooby gang and the locale. 3.5 of 5.

I love Kate. I love Sound of Music as a plot point, I love Sunset Boulevard references, and especially spontaneous appearances from Jessica Jones.
