Oh Becky. What trouble can you get into today? Becky Bloomwood, a former financial writer who LOVES to shop, is hosting Christmas this year. Never mind this will be Becky’s first Christmas hosting and everyone has different ideas on how to make the perfect Christmas celebration. Becky is determined to make everything perfect and everyone happy no matter what. On top of everything else, an ex-boyfriend appears. In typical Becky fashion she finds herself in hilarious situations and must find her way out of them.

I have loved the Shopaholic series and Becky for years! I was so thrilled to receive an advanced copy before it is released on October 15th. While the last two Shopaholic books have been a bit of a departure as they were set in the US, Becky returns to the UK in this book. She is up to her same sticky situations when more boxes show up on her doorstep than she remembers buying and she hunts endlessly for the perfect present for her husband, Luke. I absolutely love reading what Becky will get into and love her ability to try to make everyone happy, even when it does not turn out as expected. The last page of the book made me squeal with happiness and I can’t wait to read more about Becky! If you have not read the Shopaholic series, I highly recommend it! You will laugh and shake your head fondly at Becky’s adventures. They are very light hearted books that will transport you into a world of fun!!!!

I love Becky now, always have, always will. With an ending like that, I hope it means there’s more Shopaholic in the future.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the author for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book for a review!

Becky is hosting her first family Christmas and I loved the cozy, holiday cheer this book provided. It was hilarious to watch all the madness unfold in such misshapen ways. The awkward family dynamics, the stressors, the shopping, all of it transported me to the magic of Christmas and it was a really sweet feeling.

Unfortunately, this book fell a bit flat for me as it took me getting more than 80% through it to see some real depth to the characters. I loved Becky, but most of the story was narrated through her thoughts and they stayed surface-level most of the time. Once I got to the end, I loved it, but I hated that it took me that long to really be attached to the main character and to be able to really appreciate her great qualities.

Ahh, nothing like the obligatory holiday novel. Not a strong finish for a series that had a 9-book run. Very much more of the same faveolus antics and very little character growth. Becky ended the series almost just as privileged and self-centered as she started it. I did briefly feel for her when everyone made it clear she would not be able to manage Christmas dinner on her own. That soon went away, when I realized all, she had to do was open her mouth and tell people where to shove it. Her one saving grace in this last instalment was her ability to get her head out of the clouds long enough to realize a fellow parent at the school needed help. Overall, the series as a whole left me disappointed. The characters left me wanting to smack them, more than hug and cheer them on. The humor was even less so, after the first few books. This did not need to be a 9 book series. I was so disappointed.

I listened to this on Audible and I could not stop laughing. This is a hilarious story! Very consistent with the rest of the Shopaholic series by Kinsella! Loved it.

This book was a fun read to add to the collection of shopaholic series.

This book got me in the Christmas mood early and had me smiling reading Becky's story. She is all over the place and that is what I loved about it. Very entertaining.

Perfect, easy-going light-hearted read for the season! Really cute story... though Becky can be an unlikable character at times.
