I wanted to like this book, I had assumed it an easy 4 stars... but I am DNF-ing it at 35%.

The narrators have no personalities. The story kept dragging on with no real substance. I can't connect on any level. I normally love me a dual POV read but there are too many POVs/narrators a third of the way in that I just can't continue. The Now and Then also was a bit messy for investment purposes that unfortunately this is my first DNF of the year.

The story just didn't story how it could've.

I loved this book. Family history, secrets, identity, heritage… definitely a page turner! Short chapters and multiple viewpoints, but I found them easy to follow and connect.

I enjoyed it, it did have a lot of flashbacks but overall it was a good book.

Started out so strong then there was too much happening, too many people to try and keep up with, bouncing around from different times and perspectives throughout, therefore I completely lost interest about 250 pages in. Disappointing.
