Frysepunktet really makes you think about the future of technology, but most importantly, humans lack of constraint. Hubris, if I may.

While being a science fiction book set, if memory serves correct, in the 60’s Denmark and forward in time with help from cryogenics, Frysepunktet really leaves you thinking about life and death and everything in between in our lovely capitalistic time.

Being alive has a constant price of time. Not just spending your time on enjoyable activities, not to mention necessities such as food and cooking, no, but filling your precious hours with mind numbing routines in hopes of living and living long and living well, but when would you have the time for that when work’s calling?

Despite reading this at the tender age of 18-19 during my last year of Danish gymnasium, I felt an eerie sense of comradeship with Bruno. I might not have suffered the same hardships as him, but I damn well, sadly, had similar thoughts. It was one of the better, if not the best literary work I’ve had to read for class.
