There's no fooling around in this one - not of the wasting time kind anyway. The story takes right off from the very first page and doesn't let up. It is a quick read, but there is a lot of story packed into those pages. We get danger from rogue shifters, the hint of malice from another front, and romance with a bit of steamy goodness all wrapped up in a fast paced, engaging read. Candor and Ava connect well and are both likable characters. I love that Ava stands her ground on her beliefs despite her circumstances, and Candor is just one of those guys - an alpha male with a great big heart. This second in the series is exciting, emotional without getting bogged down in the angst, and a great combo of sweet and sexy romance. It's perfect for a quick bit of escapism to while away a lazy afternoon.
