One of the best if not the best book I have read this year. Surprising, well written and impossible to put down.
A great thriller.
A great thriller.

I was expecting a high paced thriller, but this was off the mark. While it was an interesting concept - a judge being blackmailed to make a decision in a case for the safety of his children, it just wasn't exciting enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. There were plenty of clues dropped along the way to figure out who might be involved, but also a lot of red herrings to throw you off the scent. A solid thriller, but not heart racing. The ending had a little shock, but also not too much of a surprise, given the storyline.

So I enjoyed this - it was fast paced and kept me guessing but there was too much legalese. It took away from the story a bit too much.

What a great book! Lots of suspense. I got a little teary eyed at the end.

My first time reading this author.
This is the story of a federal judge, his wife, and their kidnapped 6-year-old twins. I felt like the tension-building was solid throughout, but there were some parts that seemed a little hard to believe. I don't want to say too much, because my thoughts definitely contain spoiler material, but yeah, suspension of disbelief was a tall order in spots, and I wasn't completely satisfied with the ending. Overall, though, this was a decent thriller about a man in love with his family.
3 out of 5 stars.

This book defines page turner. I found it well written with well crafted twists. In the end, I was correct about the ultimate culprit, but I was unsure multiple times in the last few chapters. Plausible, and wrenching - it's a great thriller with a bit of legal and scientific wrangling thrown. in.
