I absolutely loved this! You get a real detailed love story here. The characters are fantastic and very fleshed out. You really get a sense what both of these guys are going through.
I loved the daughter's role and the whole crane thing. Loved how Christopher put Jesse's kids first and how he treated them. An absolute gem!
The sex scenes were hot, loving and at times intense. I liked that they mixed it up at times when they were feeling particularly raw or needy.
I loved how it ended. The author didn't try to fix everything that was going on, keeping the focus on these boys and the family they were becoming.
Truly beautiful story that I will enjoy re-reading ♥

The plot of the story was intriguing and I felt like the reactions of the MC to the situation were genuine. I enjoyed reading about nice people trying their best to do good towards others.

I liked the idea of this story and some of the sexy scenes were fantastic, but the truly horrible families were too just too much. One set of parents were the absolute worst and even the benignly supportive ones were shitty in the end. I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance with so many unlikeable family members. I like Leta Blake’s work but this one wasn’t really for me.

At almost 15 hours this was a LONG story. I loved getting to really know Christopher and Jesse as individuals. Interestingly, given the length - I was actually surprised that more of it wasn’t them together as a couple.
I enjoyed Blake’s exploration of really difficult situations and family dynamics. How people honor themselves while still caring for how moving on can impact those around them. I loved Christopher’s compassion and understanding for Jesse’s kids. Jesse’s close relationship with Marcy’s parents. Juxtaposed with the tension in Christopher’s family surrounding him being gay and Jesse’s contention with Marcy’s sister.
It’s a dramatic, funny, and sexy listen - all the emotions leading to a wonderful HEA for Jesse & Christopher and their blended family.
Narration:
I enjoyed John Solo’s narration. He’s a great fit for Blake’s writing and characters. Solo does a wonderful job of bringing a depth to all the emotional parts. Enjoyable listen.

So much heartache wrapped up in this book. No wonder it was so long. I almost cried several times. But I love Jesse and Christopher together. So sweet.

DNF80%. I tried to push trough but just couldn’t make myself in the end. It was weakest work of Leta Blake I’ve read so far.
