One Salt Sea is book #5 in the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire. There were so many exciting developments in this book, I don’t even know where to start. Sylvester wants Toby to take on a Squier. I don’t think it’s hard to figure out exactly WHO he wants Toby to train. Also, Toby in sword practice is actually quite amusing.

Toby has a boyfriend. Once again, I think after the events of the last book, we seen this coming. I was still a bit disappointed by this, as I don’t find this character very entertaining. Not that I dislike him, he just doesn’t make the story any more interesting.

A powerful creature calls on Toby to claim her debt. We knew this day would come, and that when it did, it would not be easy. But still, Toby cannot even BREATHE underwater. Makes you wonder how she can be much help in this situation. Where there is a will, there is a way.

The book was good. I totally called what happened with Connor, though. I guess it's for the best. Also, I was hoping for better things with Gillian. Maybe it will go better with Raysel's future.
