I swear, this series only gets better and better with each installment. Each time a new book in the series comes out, it becomes my new favorite and somehow love it even more the previous one. The Aru Shah/Pandava Novels are a perfect fit for Roshani Chokshi's weave of laughter and whimsy, more questions than answers, and otherworldly descriptions.

Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes is markedly the shift of when you truly see how the adventures are developing the central characters, especially Aru and Mini. They are a far cry from the two adolescents that started off on their adventure alone with Boo in Aru Shah and the End of Time, and it's wonderful to see how characters from Aru Shah and the Song of Death are settling into their roles and personalities in this one.

One thing I have noticed and ultimately love about each book is that when a new Pandava is introduced, it is in the most irritable of ways, but over the book you come to understand where they come from and what has shaped them to this point, as well as how their actions from there can change or define who they become. I love this because it truly acknowledges the age of these characters, where so much is in flux (especially in world-saving adventures) and their experiences provide a multitude of crossroads they can choose. Their road is not set, and I love watching these characters figure out not just who they are, but ultimately who do they want to be and what do they want to do about it.

I absolutely adore this series and will continue to hungrily wait for the next book coming Spring 2021!

Like the first two volumes, this book doesn’t fail to impress the readers and makes you feel like you are in the story yourself

Parts of this were stronger than the last in the series, but the end got a lot convoluted (and left on a cliff-hanger).
