Good things come to those who wait in this cute picturebook. Panda is making an awesome surprising gift for his friends. All of his friends are anxious to see what the surprise is, but they are too impatient to wait for the surprise to be revealed. One tenacious little friend announces his intention to be patient and waits to find out what the surprise is. Great story to start a conversation about patience and why it's important.

So cute. I did notice that all the animals are black and white. Mr. Panda is making something and all the animals do not want to wait except the penguin. It reminds me a little of The Little Red Hen. The illustrations are great. I love the expressions on Mr. Panda and the bunnies were especially cute.

Like the first one, I just can't connect with the rudeness of Panda. I know it's trying to teach a lesson, but I'm bothered by the method.

Everyone asks Mr Panda what he is making. He says it's a surprise - but no one except a little penguin can be bothered to wait to see what it will be.
When we read this, the smallest member of the household voiced the penguin and I voiced all the other characters. I'm hoping that the patience of the penguin will run off on the young audience!
