All That Jazz

Lucky and Ava.. He's a musician and she is his biggest fan.. when he notices her, he gets her to enter a contest to spend time with the band.. he makes it where Ava will be hand selected but since she feels embarrassed, she doesnt enter. I like the story, characters.. really entertaining over all

I guess you could call this a friends to enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers book. Yep, our main characters are hot and cold to each other so often I'm not even sure which way is up anymore.

The first part of the book is set against the backdrop of the initial Covid lockdown when it seemed that nobody you knew was getting it because nobody was leaving the house. You know the part where it was all a getting up late and day drinking adventure. And what an adventure this book treated us to. I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the jazz mansion and the partying (although it was definitely lacking in the promised debauchery).

The second part of the book takes us to lockdown lifting, where life seems more dangerous and risky. Although it was beautiful to see our main characters realising their love for each other, the manner in which it happens is just a little too raw and realistic for my liking.
