I was going to give this 2 stars, just because this was way too tense and unpleasant for my tastes, but Jennifer very generously made it up to us in the last few chapters, so I bumped it back up to 3.

FTR, the sexual assault in this book is not explicit, it is quite vaguely described, but I still found it disturbing and quickly skimmed over the two worst ones.

Yeah.. I don't know about this one... Lots of important info that was drawn out for no reason. This should've been like 200 pages and the info we learned would've been more impactful. Also... the last couple of chapters when
Nyktos went into his primal form
, I was laughing so hard. I don't often cringe at spice scenes but wtf was that lmaoooo.

I just can't get enough of Sera and Nyktos and their love story. I am obsessed with them. And the entirety of the Blood and Ash/Flesh and Fire series. The main characters, supporting characters, banter, tension, gods, dragons, magic, smut- it's all so well thought out. Sera is such a strong and badass leading lady and I adore her wholeheartedly. Dying to read the next book that comes out next week!

This book felt a little like an extended novella. I felt like some parts dragged and there was a lot of lore dump. I do love Sera and the way her anxiety is portrayed. It’s so nice to see a badass fmc with anxiety. I love the way Ash cares for her but Nektas is really a favorite. So mature and reasonable . I wish the majority of the book wasn’t spent with Kolis. I hate him and I’m not a huge fan of books where the FMC and MMC are apart for so long.
