Parasitology series is less scary and thought-provoking with every book.
Chimers is the last piece of the story and although something is always happening and Sal manages to pull of required number of miraculous escapes, it all felt same-old same-old.
Like nothing really new and significant happened.
The only refreshing thing in the story was Fishy and his conviction that real life is actually a video game.
"Sal, we're stuck in a cutscene-level battle here, and I didn't find a single power-up on my way to get you. I don't think we're the player characters in this situation."
I expected the story to end with bigger bang or impact or deeper message. :(

I had a lot of feelings after reading this. It actually made me see zombie-ish people differently. This last book invoked thoughts from me and made me question how accepting and understanding we are as a species. I realized we are not very accepting even when we think we are. We play with things we shouldn't. those who have power lack the emotions and intelligence they should have to be able to responsibly wield that power.
I love Sal's character. I was able to relate to her a lot despite 'who' she is. Her name is sally, mine is shelby. She is dyslexic and I am too. Shes not very good with techy stuff and neither am I. She has the cutest, sweetest relationship with a handsome Asian man and again so do I. And her Fiance, Nathan, is good with tech and so is my Husband. Her family doesn't really care for her and sadly neither does mine. She likes the hot, warm dark and so do I(My equivalent is finding a warm cramped spot, like the closet, and just sitting in the dark until I feel calm. Luckily I don't have sleepwalkers/Military/Psycho chimera to worry about so I rarely feel the need to hide and calm down) So I was able to relate to Sal more then any other character, probably, ever.
The story and writing was really good just like all of Mira Grant's books. The characters perfect as always. Mira Grant never fails to write a good book. I'd recommend all of her books if they interest you.
This was a good ending. It tied everything up well enough while leaving room for possible future books with different characters. But Sal's story is done and neatly so. I eagerly await more from Mira Grant.

I enjoyed mist if the book but, in my opinion it fell down at the end. I would still recommend the trilogy to others who like this genre.

An improvement on book two, the ending was rushed but mostly satisfactory.

I was convinced I'd read this book years ago, when it first came out. I was sure I remembered the end of the story. It's been on my shelf since then, but somehow in the haze of university reading got overlooked.

I recently discovered the error, and finally sat down to read it. Even though it's been at least 6 years since I read the previous instalment, I still remembered the characters and general outline of the plot well enough to get back into the story easily.

Generally, it stood up to my find memories of the previous books. Sal is a great character to follow, and her friends and enemies are all distinctive personalities. The only one that didn't quite sit right with me was Fishy; his delusional state didn't come across as convincing to me. Otherwise, it did a good job of reminding me why I liked the series in the first place.

I think this series would make excellent movies! Creepy and good! I really don't want to drink water though

Parasite remains my favourite of the three, but I found this a good ending to the series. I love how when Sal is done, she's done.
