My friend told me to pick this up, so I have done. Pretty interesting story line, and rather agree with Joker on how the world doesn't seem to make sense, but also agree with Gordon/Batman in that you don't have to be mad to understand that. (Although it might possibly help?)

Definitely an interesting read.

Revolutionary in its time and pillaged by later Batman writers (and movie makers) for images, concepts, and ideas.

2.5 stars rounded up.
This book was much better than "The Watchmen" to me. I may just not be a fan of Alan Moore's writing.
I mean it has this guy!

and I still didn't fan-girl over it.

It was an okay book for me though. You get the origins of the Joker..who I think is one of the best villains ever.

It's a dark one though for those of you who don't like dark. Barbara Gordan (aka-Batgirl) gets shot by the joker and he doesn't stop there. He pulls out full assholeness for this one.

The artwork is frigging awesome though. (Had to throw that in)

A lot of reviewers described it as 'dark'/'disturbing', but I didn't think it was that 'shocking'. If anything - I found it a bit underwhelming; but maybe my expectations were too high. I probably should not have read the reviews before reading the comic. The art/illustrations were extremely well done/made though.
