i don’t think it’s fair to say this book is racist against iranians. while no one can paint all people of the same race with the same brush, betty is entitled to tell her story as it happened. it has been proven to be accurate by various sources, and while details the horrible truths of irianians that did her wrong, she certainly also speaks of those who helped her, who saved her life and allowed her to live to tell her story.
Graphic: Child abuse, Confinement, Domestic abuse, Misogyny, Physical abuse, and Sexism
Moderate: Torture, Violence, Islamophobia, and War
