Currently, my favorite book of all time, from one of my favorite authors. Classic Pratchett humor and wry observation, but compared to other Discworld novels, I preferred the focus on Moist, his flaws, and his character arc/growth as opposed to an ensemble cast. I also found the plot to be more focused and the villain stronger (as a foil to Moist) than in many Discworld books. I think this would be a good entry-point for interested readers to the rest of the Discworld novels, as it was for me.

One of my absolute favorites, not only by Pratchett, but in general.

I don't think there could be such a thing as my favourite Discworld book, but this is my favourite Discworld book. Until I read my next one.

My expectations were very high for this book, considering all the praise for it. And whilst, in my opinion, it's no Night Watch, there is still a lot to appreciate here.

Moist Von Lipwig is a very enjoyable character. I find that in every Discworld book I've read, the main character(s) is always charming and a highlight. I didn't care for his relationship with Adora Belle Dearheart at all, but I really liked both of their characters individually.

Pratchett was also very good at writing intimidating villains, and Reacher Gilt is no exception to that.

The story was very engaging. It was also well paced enough that there weren't any parts where I could say I was bored. (I just wish that more happened with the idea that letters were being sent from other realities. Like, I was expecting that to come back at some point, but I don't think it ever really did.)

The jokes were funny, and the writing is great as always, so overall I came out feeling satisfied
