My favorite part of reading Adriana Herrera’s romances is the “found family” friend groups. My favorite part of this one was seeing the others from the American Dreamers books and how they came through for Ari and Yin.
Unfortunately the rest of this story wasn’t much for me. I think I am more of a full story person and not as much for novellas. What I love most in a romance is seeing the couple fall for each other - and this was a story where they were already together. We just watched them get into one (fairly minor) conflict and then get out of it (with a fairly unbelievable resolution). It was fine but not my favorite.
Thank you to Carina and Netgalley for the free ebook.

The best kind of Christmas disaster. This was so cute and wholesome, and it somehow managed to make me cry, which is impressive for a 2 hour romance audiobook. Clearly I need to get to the earlier books in this series (or anything else by Adriana Herrera) because this ticked so many boxes for me.

I adore any addition to this series.
It is an O’Henry spin and was a lovely story.

American Christmas is a novella, so it's a really quick read. It's also 4.5 books in to the Dreamers series. I've only read one other in the series, and I had the same problem with this one as I did with the last book - I just didn't connect with the characters or their romance. I don't know if that's because I'm missing some key things about them that may have been divulged in earlier books in the series, or if it was just these particular characters and their particular story. I did like the diversity, which seems to be a common thread in this author's work, and I really wanted to sink into the couch and enjoy this read, but I ended up straddling the fence. I have a feeling that someone more familiar with this series and its characters will enjoy this one more than me.

This Novella is a bit of Ari and Yin’s story. We’ve had a sprinkle of them throughout the books, especially in ‘American Dreamer’ and in ‘American Love Story’, but here we get to experience their first Christmas together as a couple.

What a sweet, steamy, and festive story to kick off my holiday reading. I am a HUGE fan of Adriana Herrera’s Dreamer series. Ari and Yin’s story intrigued me when they were introduced in an earlier novel, so it was nice to delve a little deeper into Ari and Yin’s love story.
