Smut is 5/5. Morgan plot and the lack of communication was unnecessary and frustrating.

I was thoroughly disappointed by this book.

My two main issues were how the roles of their occupations are being depicted and how the relationships are being depicted.
It was so ridiculous to me that Greer got kidnapped in the first place. Greer is also a very very poor judge of character. There were many indications (at least to me) that her cousin was bad news and she got snatched up as if nobody was watching her. Ash and Embry didn't even find out until over an hour later. Then the Vice President goes to rescue her? The VICE PRESIDENT? Maybe I watched Scandal too many times, but the lack of security measures and protocols irritated me. Usually, small inconsistencies don't really bother me. I know it's fiction like I'm not gonna be that nit-picky. But this is an essential part of the plot and to Greer's character and it seemed sloppy to me.

With their relationships, Embry just seems to be a booty call. I don't feel a connection between all three of them. Just two with a sprinkle of the other. My heart continues to be with Embry, although he was getting a bit annoying and back and forth-ish at the end. He keeps getting the shit end of the stick and it was just annoying as hell after a while. I read words of love but no action and it was just unfortunate.

After being such a negative nancy, I will say I loved the flashbacks of Ash and Embry. I like them in general and I wish they did get married, Ash stepped down as president and they lived happily ever after.

Despite all this, will I read the last book? Yes of course. I need to know what happens with Ash and his son, if Greer finds out, what Embry does with Greer's cousin, etc. The curiosity will be the death of me.
