I am unwell. Sierra Simone is quickly becoming a favorite because this story-building and character development is PERFECTION.

I loved the first book in this series, but I wasn't crazy about this one. It had a lot going on and and lots of villains. Something just didn't work for me.

I can't. I just can't finish the series. I have no interest in finishing whatever the heck is coming. There are several scenes that just *gaaahhhhh made me so angry because they made no fricken sense. Like, okay I'm not asking for a totally realistic story- no no not at all! but come on, give me something that is not completely UNREALISTIC and this is what it is. there is way too much that I could not ignore.
1st of all- the way that she 'smiles' while she is being kidnapped because she can't stop thinking of the night before. like really? you're being dragged and slapped by a strange man and you're thinking about the sex you had last night?
2nd- when Emry goes to save her, they hAVE SEX, they're on borrowed fucking time, yet they have the time to do some serious role playing. okkkaaayyyy don't worry that someone will come in and kill you both. no no go on, have some sex
3rd- Emry says that he and ash f* so hard that Ash is like a fairy queen or a wolf. ***blinks several times*** what? and he's like "I'm just a hole to fill, not a man with several kills and a garage full of sports cars...." oh my gahhhh
ooohhh and the little prince. little prince. staaahhhhpppppppp to be honest, this whole 2nd book reminded me way too much of king and soren, not that anything could compare, but the little price ref and more, really was like the other two. anyways.
i knew not to expect substance or anything else but this was just .... not good for me.

I'm conflicted about this one. The plot was great and super interesting and that ending....but the smut was borderline at times. It felt like the author tried to explain away certain things that happened to prove that they weren't.

The first 70-80% or so of this book was delectable. Then shit hit the fan and Embry did some incredibly weird, dumb shit that didn't make any sense and now I'm like... what the fuck. Anyway, all the sex stuff was hot as always, but Embry better be less dumb in American King.

I listened to the audio book and I do like this book and recommend it.
With how the first book ended I needed to know what happens next! It's alright, I liked the first book the best. I like seeing Embry's point of view, but going from the past to the present gets a bit frustrating. It's interesting to see what Maxen and Embry were like back then but I just wanted to know what happened to Greer.
The audio book is pretty good the narrators again did a great job!

Endlessly impressed at how much spice Sierra Simone can fit into one book
