I believe this series tried too hard... The characters were not that memorable or lovable, the plot was boring, and the ending left questions unanswered and a lot to be desired.

This was a lovely conclusion to Magnus’s story with a great final message that has been building the entire series. The entirety of floor 19 and Samirah, Blitz and Hearth must sail across the ocean to prevent Loki from bringing Ragnarok. Just a normal day in Valhalla.

This was a satisfying conclusion to the Magnus Chase trilogy.
I wondered though if the book had sensitivity readers or something like that (I know it's been years) because at times some of Magnus' comments regarding Samirah fasting for Ramadan felt a bit disrespectful? But I haven't seen people talk about it so idk.
Overall, I love these characters and the whole point is found family and I love that!

This might be my favorite of the series! I definitely think there's a hint in there at the end that this series could continue, and I totally think that's something Riordan would do. Plus, getting to see characters cross series is always fun. I don't know why I didn't make the Chase connection before starting this series, but I totally get it now.

Riordan has a knack for writing great groups of characters, and in such an entertaining way. His books easily hook you in, and they are quite expansive now. And I can officially say I am caught up on all of his books!

I think this book is closer to 3.5 stars for me. It was a good story and a cute ending, but left me wanting more story and development for Magnus, Blitz, Hearth, Sam, and Alex; especially the relationship between Alex and Magnus. I could have done without TJ, Mack, and Halfborn’s stories to give the original five a better story and more character development. The climax with Loki also was just meh for me, but it ended up being a cute story about friendship. Maybe this needed more than three books. Also, did Sam actually leave the Valkyrie? It was never really answered.

This book is probably my favorite in the series. Sam and Alex are still my favorite characters. T.J. Is also pretty cool.
