such a fun, innovative manga story—love the way it subverts the traditional superhero and sci-fi narratives with an older protagonist and an examination of modern-day cultures around technology

Another evocative sci-fi!!

A 58-year-old seinen hero that looks like an old man straight out of the retirement homes—who becomes a robotic alien or something? Come on!

I need old Inuyashiki and Shishigami to meet and team up!! I think they will be a horrific duo. Don't burst my bubble, I also get the feeling that they might be at-war with each other when they finally meet, but come on, Shishigami is a fricken shounen manga reader. He's gotta be a good boy, right?! And old man Inuyashiki is determined to save a lot of soul to prove himself that he's still human even without insides.

At first, I was kind of put off by the art style. It has some seinen webtoon vibes, sort of like Lookism art style, I think. But the story is good, so I'll stay here. I haven't read a good old sci-fi in a while, and Inuyashiki is really pumping up my heart right now. It also gives me that Breaking Bad vibes, without the drugs, of course. And Mr. White's family loves him, you know (at first.) Now, in this series, I'm just waiting for our own Mr. White and Pinkman to finally meet up!

A great volume and entry to the whole story. The main protagonist is an invisible man, who just takes all the injustice and is helpless against it. And then the main event changes him into a capable being.
I did not like the violence in this volume. It gets kind if boring to read about a person, this time a homeless man, who's unluncky but is given a chance and then some random guys decide go destroy his life, in this case, to get some fun by abusing and killing him. However, I heard that such events did happen in Japan, when young guys killed homeless people.
This manga raises a question, what makes you a human?
Possible futute re-read.

Well, Inuyashiki is a Sci-fi, Seinen, and Drama manga that follows a 58 years old Father who’s worn down by the hardships of life, unloved by his family and diagnosed with cancer and his life started to change after a incident that happened to him in the park...from the first pages of this manga you will notice that the art is so great and have good amount of details, my main issues with the first volume is simple when I finish a chapter I feel that it could end at a better place ( the ending of the chapters simply doesn’t keeps me thrilled to finish reading) I hope that the upcoming volumes doesn’t have the same issue.
