This might be one of my favorite audio memoirs yet. Narrated by Lenny himself, it tells the story of his childhood and ends just as he was acquiring fame, which I appreciate. I found it fascinating to hear how he became the icon he is now instead of after the fame. I didn't know much about him prior to this, so it was very interesting. I could listen to him talk all day, he's got the most soothing voice. Incredibly intimate, I highly recommend it. Now I'm going to go back and listen to his earlier albums and watch any film he's been in. Loved it!

Enjoyed listening to this book, just wish it wasn’t a part one. Appreciated as a fellow only child and mixed ethnicities, his personal search for identity.
