Powerful verse novel on the agony of being a teen - the frenemy situations, being under a spotlight of similarly insecure humans compounded by race, poverty and tough family situations - and the importance of sport - especially for young girls as a way of reclaiming themselves

I love a novel in verse. This is a lyrical, young adult story of friendship and obstacles of growing up.

I've really been digging poem stories (like Me, Moth) and this was also pretty good. Loved the MC. Would def read more from this author.
