The illustrations in this telling of snow white are rather spooky. I rather like dwarfs that are nice to look at, too. The ones in this book look scary and unpleasant.

Interesting to see how this tale was adapted into what is known today, and how dark it actually was.

I didn’t read this version exactly? But I still wanted to note that I had read it

Gorgeous, detailed, full two-page spread illustrations, but not my favorite telling of the fairy tale. I recognize the fidelity to the Grimm's original version, but it seems a little "jerky" or lacking flow.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, written by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm and illustrated by Nancy Ekholm Burkert, tells the classic story of Snow White. This book was published on November 1, 1987, and is intended for ages 5+. This story tells of a beautiful girl who is controlled by her evil stepmother. One day when the evil stepmother finds out that Snow White is the prettiest in the land, she sends one of her huntsmen out to kill her. However, he has a kind heart and tells her to run instead of killing her. She comes across this little cottage filled with seven dwarfs who allow her to stay with them. When the queen finds out that Snow White isn't dead, she goes out to the cottage and convinces Snow White to take a bite of the apple she poisoned. The only thing that can save Snow White is a true love's kiss. This book is a little darker, so I would modify it for my classroom. I would still teach the important lessons the book has in it, like not trusting strangers. This life lesson is good for anyone reading the book, especially kids. <traditional literature> <life lessons> <adventurous>
