I DNF’d the first book (Harlem Shuffle). So I space known better than to pick it up. I get why it’s on must-read lists, but this author really doesn’t do much for me, Pulitzer or not. I’ve got to stop trying to like good works!

I liked this a lot, and I'm sure that if Colson Whitehead decides to write a third Ray Carney novel, I will read it.
