I really wanted some tension, pining for each other because of the 'taboo' aspect of the story, but they ignored the problem and just sneaked around. They gave in pretty much right away and that is not something I wanted to read about nor it was really interesting. I was bored for most of the book because of how horny it was... they have sex, we get it. And for it to have "rom-com" in the blurb, this was not funny... like at all. Instead, you get messy friendship drama, or a side of creepy ex-husband because why not.

- MISTAKES WERE MADE is a joy. It's what I think of as the best kind of romance novel: sweet, spicy, and thoughtful. It also kind of felt like you were right there watching the drama unfold with your bowl of popcorn.
- I loved how Wilsner built the central relationship not just through physical intimacy but also emotional intimacy. You really get to watch them grow together in a way that feels authentic.

I did fine the pacing quite off however; the book more often then not felt like it was either too slow or too fast and there was very little in between. I also don’t love the way Parker finds out that her friend and mom were together was revealed; yes it makes sense when you look back through the book (the signs are there and it fits) however it felt…I don’t know easy and forced don’t seem quite the right way to describe it but I don’t know how else to explain my feelings around it. It just felt a little too much like it was a convenient way to wrap up that plot point up with a neat little bow and I was hoping for a bit more I guess.
