A nice end to the Wilderness saga, but it's been too long since I read the last book, and I had to work hard to remember some of the characters and their history. I think some point in time I'll go back and read the whole series back-to-back, so I can follow the character's story arcs properly. Anyone who enjoys Gabaldon's Outlander series will probably like this one as well, although it lacks the time-travel element.
