Odette and Gale, Gale and Odette. They will forever hold a place in my heart. i loved this series so much and I cannot wait to get to McAvoy’s other books🥰

What I really liked in this book was seeing the first year of Odette and Gale’s marriage, the ups & downs they faces and how they overcame/managed them together. Usually I am content with just the epilogue and being in blind bliss that my couples stay happy forever without any problems so this was a welcome change, I cried and laughed and screamed and enjoyed every bit of it. I also appreciate that it’s multiple pov’s and they felt well weaved into the story and not a distracting addition.

my only thing was it felt like there was too many scandals coming at them that I couldn’t fully enjoy their blissful moments but I wasn’t necessarily mad at that.

I'm not a big romance reader but this was actually pretty cute. Still had all of the aspects of romance novels I don't like lol but modernized so it was a nice light read.

Nando’s Spice Rating: Plain-ish (not that I’d call this a romance but it’s the best genre to put it in)

Having just read a book that was too short, this book was too long.

Now I love it when a writer extends an epilogue to a full book/longer novella but here it was just too long. It felt longer than the original 2 books itself.

Having said that, I do love Odette and Gale and really enjoyed about their life after TPB.

This book did just lacked a consistent conflict; there was just a lot of little ones which even though is more realistic, it made the book less interesting.

If you want the epilogue of TPB Part 2 in more detail, that’s all this book is. There wasn’t much more planned than that.

JJ McAvoy is still one of my favourite authors so I really enjoyed this book.

Overall, this could’ve been half the length it actually was and would only recommend if you REALLY enjoyed the first 2 books otherwise don’t read this.

- excited to see their married life and her as a queen
- finally a conclusion to the stepsister drama
- dude big mistake wtf. Why wouldn’t you tell her????
- I feel robbed of cheesy Christmas scenes
- the rest was good. Although the end felt sudden but really it’s an epilogue book. It could have kept going

Gale and Odette forever

Gale and Odette had a rollercoaster year! I loved it. The writing was very engaging and fast paced and I couldn’t wait to read what would happen next. I enjoyed reading the multiple points of views to get the full story. The only downside to me is not seeing the prime minister get what was coming to him.

I wish every book series could have a final book like this one - where the author dives into the “after” of the Happily Ever After. Apparently this was supposed to be a novella, but it became this full length novel, and thank goodness it did. It was so satisfying to read, and I loved every page!

This book narrates the first year of Gale and Odette’s reign, following the drama and happiness and challenges month by month. We also got to experience the inner dialogue of some of the side characters, which I loved.

I laughed out loud multiple times, and whenever a book succeeds in making me have audible reactions —> 5 stars.

Side note: I cannot be the only one who ships Wolfgang and Iskander??
