Living by the code is so hard...

... for men that are in love with someone that their circle does not approve of. Andriano had been denied for 5 years of the woman he loved and will not be denied any longer. He was tired of the playing by the La Cosa Nostra code. He just couldn't pretend anymore. In the mean while Simone struggled to care for her daughters and did what she could to keep them safe. Her character struggled with the hurt she felt for Andriano's tossing her aside for the code but she did not realize he was saving her life. When he found her again and found what she had been protecting, he was determined even more so to make her his again. He said he would always find her, no matter. He was proud of what she managed to do on her own with the help of her grandmother and Victoria.

I was so hurt that Victoria chose revenge in the end. I just hated the ending. Even though Andriano and Simone got their HEA, I hated the ending. I'm hoping and praying the last scene was all a bad dream. I would love to see a Dipping Into Sinn 3 where it is revealed that this was all a nightmare.

D.J. Parker writes a good suspense story. I would have never guessed who the traitor was. I enjoyed reading this book. Andriano is a man who loved hard and true and will do anything necessary for the family he loves.

OMG Andriano

What a mess he's in. This complicated character thought he could hit it and quit it. What he did't think he would do is fall in LOVE and that's what he did. His trying to keep Simone away from his life only made him love her more. He is caught between being loyal to the his family and La Cosa Nostra. He doesn't love Josephine but he's willing to be loyal to the mafia by bidding their due.
Simone has fallen heads over heels and the electric charge of just being in the same room with Andriano makes her lose all sense of herself. To her, he is her first and only and he has broken heart. She had to come to the realization that she would not fit in his life and has to keep she and the babies safe by all means necessary, until the funeral of Victoria's father. All hell is about to break loose because Andriano will no be denied anymore.
I loved this story, reading about an innocent girl coming into the grips of an alpha mafia male who wants what he wants. D.J. writes a heart wrenching story of how these two have to deal with the personal events in their lives which could end up being life or death if their relationship was made public, Can't wait to read the second installment of this series.

O M G! Andriano doesn't play fair. But all is fair in love & war. He has eyes only for his 'Bella Mia' and he will do anything for the love of her and their children. Even though you know how ruthless of a man he is, you can't help to want him to succeed

Left me very frustrated

I wanted to like Simone's character, but I found myself wanting to yell at her and shake her several times throughout this novel. Andriano is abusive and manipulative. His antics throughout this novel were gross. The only "sin" in this novel is him.

When comparing books, I have to say the first book was hands down the best. I don't know what happen between the first book and this one, the story fell flat. I mean really, Simone's best friend asks her to listen to some tapes and instead of started with tape A, she listens to tape C first. That's like reading the last three chapters of a book first and when finished start at the beginning. Somewhere between the first book and the last book the Simone character last something for me. The only character that was true to form was Andriano. He was consistent in what he felt for Simone. Simone played too many games and was not true to herself in this part of the story.
