This book was juicy and fun to read; really gave me a good taste of summer. The characters felt like real people. There were problems with the book technically, but at the end of the day I have fun following the women and their relationships!

Ok story about a widow who invites 4 friends to a girls weekend.
A big cast of characters, all wildly different. Lots of flash backs. Lots of drama.

What a delightful tale of the drama amongst a group of women on Nantucket! I wish I was drinking a margarita on a beach while reading this. The premise was really interesting and well executed. All of the characters were fleshed out and felt like real women. There were turns every other chapter that kept me hooked!

Since I was on a poolside vacation I had to pull out an Elin Hilderbrand read & this premise was perfect for my girl's trip.

The Five-Star Weekend followed a middle-aged woman, Hollis whose husband dies in a car accident. In the wake of her husband's death, Hollis hosts a weekend in Nantucket for 4 of her friends that have defined each time in her life: her childhood friend, her college roommate, her best friend from her married with kids life, and her middle-aged friend - but one of these friends is not like the other.
Plenty of secrets are unveiled this weekend and Hollis' daughter Caroline has it all recorded.

The entire book takes place in one weekend with some flashbacks expertly weaved in. The descriptions of food were divine and every time I read one of Hilderbrand's books I want to go to Nantucket. Quick & easy poolside read.
