Unfortunately I did not enjoy this book. I found it very slow, didn’t like any of the characters and hated all of the pop culture references (way too many and felt forced and “trendy”). I also hated the
cheating plot lines

This book could have been good. The story was a good idea.
I only liked one of the characters, maybe two. Most were not lovable nor relatable. All were selfish.
The end was rushed and felt unfinished.
There was a random narrator at the very beginning and randomly popped up, and we never find out who it is. Also, the dog has a narrative ?… but only 430~ pages in and once. It didn’t drive the plot or thought process at all.
The whiplash from the back and forth between the present and past! It was almost hard to keep up with. Tried too hard to have a weaving dynamic of characters.
I really wanted to like it but it felt like a superfluous read.

I really hated Matthew’s character, and the more I got to know him, the more I was so glad that he died in chapter one. Caroline may be given more grace, but I really disliked her for her attitude toward her mom. But the development between the two felt forced.

Given how pivotal Gigi’s role is, I was surprised how little she was featured, relative to  everyone else. I think it might’ve been because there were too many characters to focus on. Probably would’ve worked better with just three friends and a different title.

Epilogue felt cheesy. Book could’ve concluded without it.

So while I was  unsure what the big deal had been about this book, I thought it was cute the way the author highlighted her other book (The Hotel Nantucket) within this story.
