Amazing. Kennedy never fails. This book is the best from this series so far. And I hope the next one is even better. Jake is my favorite kind of character. He knew what he wanted, and he communicated it. He never failed to tell Oz how he felt about him, and he loved him in a way, I think we all want to be loved. Unwavering.

I love that the angst/drama only happened near the end of the book. I was annoyed at how long the secrets were kept hidden, but I think it worked well in this story. It really did feel like we all wanted to keep things going just a little longer before the end date. So am not mad at it. Great story. Nice seeing the previous characters too.

Oz was hilarious. Omg I laughed out loud a lot. And I'm coming off a Lennox novel that pissed me off for trying to be funny. And I literally said, while laughing at something Oz said, this is how you do funny. I'm sure this too is Lennox's flavor, since Kennedy is mostly angst. So am glad it worked here.

I cried too. Oh did I cryyyy. maybe it's just my covid emotions.

One of the MCs used to have feelings for an MC in a previous book in the series. The same MC was in love with someone who died, and is still torn up about it. I’m not a fan of any sort of other person content, so I’m giving this one a skip.

3.5 for sure. This was cute. But I felt like most of it was physical attraction (not a bad thing for many readers). They literally knew nothing about each other like nothing.

Why yes, I AM crying.

This was an emotional roller coaster of the most divine type. I absolutely loved Oz and Jake’s story. They are beautiful and romantic and sexy and just absolutely perfect.

Loved it!

I fell in love with Oz the minute he was introduced. Discounted throughout his adult life as nothing more than a pretty face. It was so great to see what he was made of.

I'm gonna be really honest with you - there was not a whole lot, I liked about this book, but I'll try to keep the rant to a minimum :D I'm sure others will like the book, but it was not for me.

What I liked:
- Jake's bonding with Boo (Princess Cujo)
- Wade, Bennett, Lucky, and Xander (secondary characters)
- Oz' connection to the townsfolk and his work there

What I didn't like:
- Miscommunications/with-holding information galore
- The whole suspense plot? I don't see the need, but I guess it's one way to add angst? I will say, that it was well-written to keep me suspended.
- How quickly Jake and Oz fall in love, but it's more told to me than shown
- Chapter-length sex scenes (don't come for me!)

I'm sure that I would have liked the plot a lot more, if I had liked and felt a connection with each character - and their pairing - but I felt myself wanting to quit several times from about the half-way point, but I really wanted to know Jake's secret, which was all that kept me going towards the end.
