Psychological drama about a wife trying to protect her husband after he's accused of sexual assault and rape. Turns out she has a secret past as well. 3 1/2 stars.

I really enjoyed 9/10 of this book. I loved The Ex and decided that I’d give this a shot.

Did the author just get tired at the end? I won’t add spoilers, but I do not understand why the end needed to feel so totally rushed. I felt like someone else wrote the ending.

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator isn’t the best and garbles a lot of her speech, especially when attempting to change her voice for male characters.

I've intentionally managed to not read or watch Gone Girl. Therefore, I was not excited about reading what Harlan Cohen apparently called "This Year's Gone Girl."

Alafair Burke did it again!!! I did not expect the ending. At some point I felt like the story was drawn out and some details could’ve been left out but at the end I understood why the author took time to detail certain events. This book will not disappoint. I was so sure I knew what was going to happen but I was proven wrong. Worth your time!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. First I would like to say that this book is absolutely beautiful. The background is a matte finish and the ring is metallic so it stands out beautifully. Then the pages are really cool because each way you bend them they say either “his scandal” or “her secret”.

After getting through the look of the book I was really excited to read the book. I have recently been getting into thrillers and mystery novels. From the very beginning tho Book had me hooked. There are twists and turns that I never saw coming. I really felt like I knew the character that was doing the narration and who the story was mainly about. I would 10/10 recommend this book to my friends. It was a very quick and interesting read and I hope you take a look at it and give it a shot! I will most definitely be picking up some of Alafair’s other titles!
