10/10 no notes!!! The Bromance Book Club is the definition of a Bromantic Comedy. This was my first book by Alyssa Kay Adams and it did not disappoint!! I cannot say how much fun this book was to read. As a person who has been in a relationship with my husbando for 12 years, I adored the journey these gentlemen took together to improve their relationships with their wives by reading romance books and encouraging one another to be the best husbandos they can be.

I will most definitely continue this series!

Gavin's marriage is on the rocks. It's enough that Thea gave up her dreams to drop out of college to support his baseball career and raise their twin daughters, but when he reacts poorly to an intimate revelation in bed, Thea kicks him out. Unwilling to give up on their relationship, Gavin turns to his guy friends, who provide some unconventional advice on how to win her back.

Gavin was at times painfully dense, lacking in self-awareness and failing to read the room or put the lessons he's supposedly learning into practice, which was kind of irritating and made me question my judgment in rooting for him. That said, this was still a pretty fun, light-hearted read. (Note to editor: There is some sloppy Spanish on page 2.)

I think this had a lot of good things to think about for married people and working at relationships. I thought the concept was great, but I’m not sure how realistic she intended it to be? There was a lot of poking fun at the romance genre, so I wasn’t sure if she meant some of the cheesy parts or the group of athletic, hot men who are able to learn from romance novels together and understand women to be considered realistic or chalked up to “romance novel expectations”? I like to believe it can exist. Lol

These men are idiots, but they’re well intentioned idiots, which counts for something. This was a fun nonsense read, and I’ll certainly sign up to read another, even if there wasn’t much substance to it.

Gavin Scott’s marriage is in trouble. As a Major League Baseball player he can’t hit a home run, but his marriage is in trouble. His wife Thea wants a divorce. In order to save his marriage, Gavin agrees to join a secret romance book club. What better way to learn about romance than from the source?

I’ll be honest I was skeptical about this book at first, but y’all Gavin put in the work to save his marriage. It was cute and funny and the men in the story really took these romance books seriously. ❤️

This was an easy, quick read. I don’t think I’ve read anything with a similar premise, with the male perspective. I liked that. However, I think initially both main characters are pretty toxic.
