After 17 different short stores, I want 15 to be longer! Such good sci-fi that explores different kinds of existential themes, human interactions and relationships (not sexual), and even issues that surprised me to have been written by a Chinese citizen (because the Chinese government controls most things). Most impressive.

With my negligible grasp of astrophysics/physics, Liu really knows his stuff. Even without the legit science stuff, I’d still have thoroughly enjoyed these stories. Props to the translators too! Chinese to English ain’t always easy.

Probably 3.5 Some great stories and some interesting ideas explored, but the collection was a little uneven.

3.5, his other works have interesting ideas, but nothing has gripped me like The Three-Body Problem trilogy did.
