queen_cocolatis's review against another edition
I read a theory/spoiler about a character that made me uncomfy. So I just decided to drop it and wait til book five and see if it ends up confirmed. Nothing too big, but I just wanted to make sure.

Holy flippin cow. I don't think I like this book more than Words of Radiance, but it's really close.
First off, some of the characterization in this story is the best in all of fiction. Specifically, Dalinar. He may just be the best written character I've ever witnessed.
The historical context received from this book was awesome. Everything about furthering the understanding of Roshar is always enjoyable. The Sanderlanche was also jaw-dropping. It may be my favorite Sanderlanche yet. I had chills for the entirety of those final 120ish pages.
However, I do have two gripes with this book, but neither hold the rating back:
1. The pacing was off a little bit. If that element was better, this book would probably overtake Words of Radiance for me.
2. Shallan's arc was not my favorite, but by no means was it bad. I prefer her characterization in Words of Radiance. I hope it improves in the next book.
Just a fantastic book.
