Is there a lot of spice in this book? Absolutely. Luckily for us, it also includes a fascinating world and fantastic plot and cast of characters. If you don’t like high spice books, the plot will likely be lost in the sea of smutty delights BUT the plot is truly interesting and just complex enough to keep you interested but not so complex you’re bogged down in a more complicated book (it’s not a simplistic book, I mean more that some books take more concentration to remember all the details and complicated world building, and I’m not always in the mood for that.)

Now, am I huge Kathryn Moon fan in general? Absolutely. I love her characters, I love the bigger picture she has us thinking about and questioning in every book she writes, no matter how smutty the book is, she manages depth to at least a singular topic, if not more, and I think that takes talent.

Lola and the Millionaires is my threshold for a 5⭐️, and that’s one of my fav books of all time, in general, so it’s stiff competition so a 4.5 is hella good!

Moon does a spectacular job creating characters that are distinct from each other, especially when there are so many men in this to keep track of. It’s fun, it’s steamy and I’m curious to see where it will lead.

Only reason I'm knocking half a star off is because it took me a long time to get into this book. I don't know how long I would've taken to get through it if I didn't switch between reading on my Kindle and listening to the audiobook.
But really, don't listen to the reviews that say "no plot, just monster dick" because there is a really good plot going on. Mystery, betrayal, mystical intrigue... and the characters are all fun and interesting. To be fair, I'm fairly indifferent towards Esther, but I love all the men, save for Amon. He's on thin ice. Overall, a good time with good smut.

Completely bananapants monster erotica romance. The world-building within the Victorian period is captivating as are the different monsters the author creates. There is a mystery, a heroine in peril, and adventure. Bonus points for the discussions of consent throughout. Where the book falls just a little short for me is the feeling of repetition within the plot; there is room to shave a few scenes and that might have tightened things up. Otherwise, an engaging and steamy read.

Long story short, if you’re looking for some mindless monster action - this is the book for you. But don’t expect anything beyond that.

After reading the Sweetverse books, I was really looking forward to this one, but it was a bit of a letdown, to be honest. Lola & Baby’s RH stories had such thorough, well-rounded plots & characterization. This one is pretty much straight up erotica each & every chapter and, oddly enough, the best descriptor I can use is boring. I don’t understand how a monster RH could be boring, but this one showed me it’s possible!

Our MFC Esther’s only character trait is that she’s a gal who likes, no craves, sex. At one time, she even declares that “she’s just a girl who loves fucking.” More power to her, but that shouldn’t be the be-all & end-all of characterization, and I didn’t find anything else about Esther beyond this. Some of the fellas were sort of interesting (Booker, mainly), but overall, there just wasn’t much for me to engage with.

Good story, but had a hard time accepting Booker. Not sure I'll read the next book in the series.
