I had to read twice to figure out what exactly happened at the cafeteria. DID NOT see that coming.
And yes, it IS one of those great stories that you can't put down until you get to the end.
Even though you finally find out what happens, there are untangled knots that you want to loosen up, so, you end up reading till you know for sure that it has ended.
A very realistic read.
Moderate: Mass/school shootings, Rape, and Bullying

I've seen a lot of reviews mentioning Gone Girl. I missed the marketing for this book so I might be late but let me say it's nothing like that book. To be clear, Gone Girl is brilliant, but this is not that kind of story. Not to spoil too much, but the biggest distinctions for me are 1) Gone Girl is about revenge and this story is about the beginnings of healing and 2) Amy acts, while Tiffani is acted upon.
Graphic: Racial slurs and Mass/school shootings
Moderate: Rape
Minor: Eating disorder, Adult/minor relationship, Xenophobia, Religious bigotry, Panic attacks/disorders, Misogyny, Medical trauma, Bullying, and Drug use
For the graphic: The slur is used once, the main character is disgusted by it. The shooting takes up a chapter. The moderate: It is not a minute by minute description but every act is described and you know enough. The minor: Teen behavior and adult trauma responses. The "adult/minor" tag I added becauselakinlindsey's review against another edition
