This book is the definition of "an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind."

Absolutely incredible revenge story that hooks you at the very start.

It's taught me perception vs perspective are to different things to always take into account of someone.

Highly recommend!

Una historia de venganza a cinco voces trepidante, que te tiene pegado al libro hasta la última página. Deseando leer más de la autora.

This book was dark and fucked up and the twists and different points of view were really eye opening

some loose ends left but the ending was still wild and wrapped up the book in a clear (yet really fucked) way.

Each chapter is told from the perspective of a new character, and while usually that's a neat narrative tool, in Confessions each chapter just ends up rehashing the same information we've learned in Chapter 1. You can only re-read the same information so many times before it feels incredibly tedious.

In a twisted way I really enjoyed this book. In the first quater or so I wished it had a little more spice to it but it balanced itself out. The ending is just a real bomb.
Unfortunately the teacher/mother of the murdered child is mainly absent in most of the book because she orchestras everything from behind the scenes.
Some of the characters could have used a little touch up especially regarding their depth.
All in all I quite enjoyed it and it gave me KDrama "The Glory" vibes.

I should start off by saying this is there second Japanese translation I've read and I didn't like either one. I think it's a personal preference thing. I don't seem to click with the writing style.

I really wanted to like this. I've heard amazing things about the plot and twists the story takes. Don't get me wrong this book is a rollercoaster, but I wasn't invested. If you need to relate to characters to be invested (like I do) this is not a book for you.

i don’t think this book lends itself well to binging there’s j a lot of repetition from the recaps, i had to skim some of the repeating tbh, but i still enjoyed it over all, the twists and the discussions were interesting

i think in terms of chapters i liked most to least, it’d prob be 2, 1, 6, 5, 4, 3
