Love the FMC - great character development for her, hope we get more for the other characters in the rest of the series

This reads as a romance in a fantasy setting, I typically enjoy when romance is a subplot rather than the focus.
If you're a romance reader who enjoys spice I'd say this will be a 5 star read for you.
That being said - I still enjoyed it greatly, what plot there was outside of the relationship was excellent and I hope we get more of it in the rest of the series.

Picked this up after finishing ACOTAR and its…quite similar on many aspects but not to the point of plagiarism. I’d recommend it for those who enjoyed ACOTAR. Please note though there is mention of SA in this book and it definitely made me uneasy. Nothing described graphically, but enough context that it may trigger others.

Way too much SA. A .5 bump only for the resilience of the FMC.

I really enjoyed this. It was definitely a romance based in a fantasy world, I would have liked to explore that world a bit more but honestly this was so fun for what it was. I liked the over lapping past and present. I like that the thing that breaks your heart that’s required in all romances wasn’t actually horrible or a character flaw. I’m very happy that it ties up enough that I don’t feel forced into book 2 to get an ending. I read it in less than 2 days cause I just didn’t want to stop.

There was a lot to love about this book. Overall I really enjoyed it and it was a quick read. There are some parts of the book that left me feeling weird. I didn’t like that Callie was 16 when they met. I’m not sure why the author thought making her a minor added to the story more than if she would’ve been 18. I also felt like the ending was rushed. I felt like the author could’ve expanded upon that part of the storyline. It felt pretty flat at the end, which was unfortunate because the book was so good overall.

this is mostly just a slow burn love story set to fast forward with a hint of a mystery that serves to kind of drive the plot forward without it being as fully developed as it could... but i enjoyed it nonetheless. A lot of nearly identical references as the ACOTAR series yet ACOMAF and Rhapsodic were published within months of each other so idk just find it odd that they both include a place called "under the mountain" as well as a kingdom of night whose ruler is a bat winged main love interest. anyway. read it in 2 days so good stuff ig.
