I’ve never been a big thriller gal, but His & Hers was a genuinely entertaining read that kept me on my toes and constantly guessing. It didn’t come off as cliche as the other novels in this genre typically go and I really enjoyed 90% or so of the book. More than anything, I think Feeney deserves a round of applause for her incredible writing - she is immensely talented at writing unreliable narrators and support characters. While I admittedly did guess the big twist, I won’t lie, it absolutely wasn’t the first and only assumption I made. In fact you genuinely felt like everybody in the book could be a suspect. She really did a good job making the reader assume every possible scenario.

Now for the bad… As I said I enjoyed the first 90% of the book, but the last 10% lost me a bit. I felt it started to get draggy and took too long to get to the point. I also found the big twist and some other factors in the book to have a few plot holes and nonsensical moments that bothered me… it just didn’t add up. Like it just felt a bit unrealistic at times.

Most importantly regardless of my book rating, if you have any triggers that impact you, I do highly recommend checking the TWs for His & Hers. Some moments really made me feel panicked and freaked out, and I can see it bringing up some dark feelings for certain readers. His & Hers pulls no stops here, something that is equally admirable and dangerous. So tread cautiously, because some scenes made me nauseous and genuinely want to cry tears of panic…and not just from the gore.

If you are on the hunt for a really dark, very f**ked up, twisty, gory thriller, you might want to pick up His & Hers.

Damn, what did I just read? This was a wild ride!
Deducting one star cuz some parts of the book truly disturbed me and I was left feeling uncomfortable for quite a while; it was unsettling. This book should come with all sorts of trigger warnings.

The end at each chapter always kept you guessing; I was suspecting 4 people at the same time and my mind was shuffling between suspecting a different one after every chapter.
The narrator's POV reveals nothing and keeps you hooked and guessing till the end. I thought it was very well written.

I saw some of the twists coming but I was not prepared for that last one. I am not the kind of person who will give a fewer stars just because I managed to guess the twists from a mile away. It doesn't mean the writing is suggestive of it, I just suspect everyone and it isn't the author's fault.

Spoiler I don't know if it was supposed to be a twist cuz who wouldn't figure out that Catherine and Cat Jones are the same person?? I saw that coming as soon as the photograph was mentioned.

Alice Feeney's writing is captivating as usual. Brilliant storytelling and truly the queen of twists.

Also, I can't wait to see how the tv show pans out!

I hadn’t heard to much about this book going into it except a few people mentioned it was a “must read”.
I wish I had ignored them. This book had potential because of the very nature his versus her narrative.
Unfortunately the ending was complete garbage and totally unbelievable. All signs point to person “A” for the entire book until the very last second when person “Q” confesses and you’re like…huh?
