absurd to the point of meaninglessness. the best kind of absurdism is that contrasted with grounded moments of realism, cat’s cradle had none of that. One of the reasons I really enjoyed everything everywhere all at once is because the moments of absurdism(hot dog fingers) were contrasted with moments of true emotions such as the scenes between evelyn and joy. As well cat’s cradle’s humor just really didn’t mesh with mine, I didn’t find it that funny or poignant.

Doing my reread of Vonnegut works. As of this year, I've read Player Piano, Mother Night, Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse - Five.
My current reread ranking as of now, with plenty to go is:
1) Slaughterhouse - Much, much better on a reread.
2) Player Piano - went from one of my least liked to one of my favorite reads.
3) Cat's Cradle - Didn't wow me nearly as much as the first time, but still fantastic.
4) Mother Night - a close race with Cat's Cradle, and still has one of the wildest endings in a book I've read.
My current reread ranking as of now, with plenty to go is:
1) Slaughterhouse - Much, much better on a reread.
2) Player Piano - went from one of my least liked to one of my favorite reads.
3) Cat's Cradle - Didn't wow me nearly as much as the first time, but still fantastic.

Some of the language and humor has not aged well. Hints at themes of science, religion, and morality. About the end of the world in a way that's fairly light-hearted and strange. No one is a good person but they're not unlikable.
