This was a charming classic. It would make a fun read aloud with lots of discussion.

I found some aspects of the book slightly prissy, probably because it was set a while ago. Otherwise, I quite liked it, and will be reading the sequel soon.

This was a really fun book with an enjoyable premise. I'm really impressed with how quickly the children figured out how to approach their wishes. I do wish that it had been more clear with the ages - I even went back looking for it and Eager just emphasizes their birth order without ever giving any ages that I could see. It just made it harder for me to grasp the children, but didn't greatly take away my enjoyment of the story. Things do happen VERY quickly (in regards to the mother's storyline in particular), but it's where I would have wanted things to go and the focus on the children makes it less bothersome for me. A fun book I'll be adding to my recommendations list.

This was one of my favorite books as a kid. I read it over and over. I saved it, and we did start reading it to the kids on a trip to Arizona.. but where is it now???

Great book!
