I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this one. Some say this falls flat given how much it's hyped up, but if you take it within its context and realize how many religious thoughts & theories Lewis made simpler here, it really is staggering.
I would have to read it multiple times to be able to comprehend & retain every point he made, but I liked what he had to say on pride, all things flowing from Christ, the nature of provocation and what it reveals rather than creates, and how resisting builds character. I also think CS Lewis is so consumable because of his easy metaphors. They help the reader understand the concepts so much easier.
I docked half a star only because I can't get behind a few of the arguments that are built mainly on tradition & assumptions (the sections on sex & gender roles, in particualar). But I understand that this was a product of its time.
A great read for Christians!
I give Julian Rhind-Tutt 5/5⭐️ for his vocal performance.
