And of all the worldly, wise, and wonderful Edra Ferber quotes, we remember her by “Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling.” Uhhohhkay, for real? srsly? No. She was talking about feminism and white privilege long before hashtags.

Ps: does anyone else think Bick is a real a-hole?

Pps: a stellar Netflix moment, when Andee and I are thirty min into Disc 2/2 of the movie Giant when we realize we’ve missed the entire first half of the movie. No wonder we were lost and abandoned the viewing project as assigned by our father.

I'm in love with the art style of this book, from the coloring to the character design, I was enticed from the moment I saw the cover.
Going deeper than the art, though, Giant tells an intricate and compelling story, against the backdrop of New York City during The Great Depression.
I immensely enjoyed this book and I'd definitely recommend it.

3.5 stars. The last half I couldn't put it down, although the beginning feels disjointed, starting at the end then going back to the beginning. I wonder why the author decided to structure it that way. Maybe if you started with Bick's trip to "ole Virginny" it reads flat? It reminds me of that Elton John song that was so boring, then they added the live audience track in the background and it was a hit. One little switcharoo changes the whole feel of it.

One of the few books where the movie is better. I still didn't hate the book, but I surely did not feel affection for it.

Gorgeous historical piece, things are going to get worse for the Giant before they get better.

Belle BD historique. La future de le Giant vont inclure plus des temps douleurs avant qu'il améliore.
