I really don’t think Sarah Pinborough is the author for me, two DNF books and two bad books off my TBR list is enough.

[b:Behind Her Eyes|28965131|Behind Her Eyes|Sarah Pinborough|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1485279813l/28965131._SY75_.jpg|49193186] was my favourite book of last year, so I'm sad to say that I was pretty disappointed with this book.

The first 1/2 of this book was super addictive and engaging. I really liked all of the different character perspectives (even though Ava was a bit annoying and wouldn't shut up about sex) and I absolutely loved the first twist!

However it then quickly went off the rails. I haaaaated the ending, it was so unbelievable and outlandish! How could any of what happened realistically happen?! It also completely ruined what was so good about the first twist...

Also the extra character POV that comes in near the end was so bratty and entitled that I really struggled to get through it. I just wanted to shake them and tell them to give it a rest!!

So overall I'm giving this book 2 stars for how much I liked the first half, but honestly the last part was 1 star for me...

You know those books where you keep thinking all the pieces are there for a great story and somehow it never comes together? This is that book for me. There aren’t any real surprises. Once you find out a single piece of information about the plot all the rest of it is glaringly obvious. The major characters are flat. The minor characters serve as nothing more than red herrings. My biggest pet peeve, where everyone is stupid in precisely the same convenient ways, is in full effect here.

This was an entertaining read, but took a strange twist halfway through. The plot twists were predictable and the ending was just utterly ridiculous.

I enjoyed the writing style, but the ending and climax were pretty unsatisfying and entirely unrealistic. And not unrealistic in a cool weird fun way. Just unrealistic in a... that doesn't even make one ounce of sense type of way.

I haven't read Behind Her Eyes, but I watched the show and loved it so maybe I'll pick that one up (I kinda forgot how it went) since I did like the writing of this one, but just wasn't a fan of the story overall.

Can't win them all. Still a pretty fun read throughout, but that ending just killed me.

Thriller, not very artful. Despite the novel being broken into chapters for each character’s perspective, there is no really change of tone or other indication of character change.
